Mandla Ngcobo is the deputy director-general: CIO at the Department of Public Service and Administration. He has 19 years' experience in the public sector and five years in the private sector. He has a vast understanding of corporate governance, including experience in the formulation and implementation of IT governance processes, policies and structures.
Before joining the Department of Public Service and Administration, he was CIO at the Department of Labour. Prior to that, he was director: Information Technology at the Department of Health, and was also a senior specialist in risk management at the Vodacom Group. He holds a master of management in ICT policy and regulation from the University of Witwatersrand, a BTech degree in business information systems from the Tshwane University of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of Zululand.
